Hi There, I'm Lisa!

My name is Lisa and I am a wife and mother of three. I currently work full-time as a data analyst/SAS programmer. I have a BS in Computer Information Systems from Our Lady of the Lake University, a MS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, a MS in Data Science from SMU, and a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and an Adult Education Certification from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Photography is another part-time activity that I partake, but I don’t consider it a job; it is a passionate hobby. I have been dabbling in photography since about 2000 and have attended many classes, workshops, and seminars to help improve my skills. I have enlisted the help of family and friends, and friends of family and friends over the years to practice what I’ve learned. In the summer of 2014, after much prayer and the unyielding support of my husband, Sam, I initiated Lisa Mendez Photography, LLC.
In March of 2016 we moved to the New Braunfels area and I am in love with the areas around town to take photographs.

Family Portraits
Capturing the love between family members is my ultimate goal when I photograph families. Landscape and model photography invoke emotion, but when photographing families I try to capture emotion. Families that like to have fun, laugh, joke, and run around usually appreciate my style because I prefer to take pictures when families are interacting instead of sitting them down in a pose. Of course, who doesn’t want the ultimate family picture to hang over the fireplace? But my family portrait style will yield many different types of pictures from candid, to story-telling, to the traditional family depiction.

Weddings & Events
I didn't start out as a wedding photographer, but I have photographed some wonderful weddings or the years. I have traveled to Spring Branch, Galveston, Longview,
and Las Vegas.
I have had the privilege to take photographs of many different events such as milestone birthday parties, Quincenneras, First Holy Communion, Baptisms, and getting ready for prom.

Seniors & Grads
I love capturing images that convey a celebration of a person’s milestone in life. We should celebrate every day, but when a milestone is achieved we want to capture those moments through pictures. What better way than to take pictures of high school seniors in their favorite outfits, at their school, or with items from their favorite sport or musical instrument. Creating photographs with graduation regalia is also a wonderful way to announce one’s achievements, such as graduating from high school or college.
